The EU Asia Centre invites you to a webinar on EU-India relations

The EU Asia Centre invites you to a webinar on EU-India relations from 1100-1200 CET on 22 July.

The 15 July virtual EU-India summit agreed to deepen cooperation in several areas, from climate change, trade and investment to digitalisation, foreign and security policy. Does this summit mark a real change in the relationship? Where does the EU fit into India’s world vision? PM Modi has also been active in developing closer ties with India’s neighbours, the US, Japan, Australia and ASEAN. Relations with China and Pakistan, however, remain strained. Panellists will consider the EU-Indian relationship in light of other India priorities including the domestic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fraser Cameron, Director of the EU-Asia Centre, will moderate the panel:

Samir Saran, President of the Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi

Caroline Vinot, Head of Division for India, EEAS

Shada Islam, Managing Director, Global Horizons Project and Senior Advisor, EU-Asia Centre
